In the flow is a dynamic class combining the steadiness and presence of hatha, and intentional transitions of vinyasa. In the flow includes a mix of longer held postures, dynamic transitions, strength and balance opportunities, as well as slow moments to lean in to sensation. Class starts with pranayama and grounding to build and cultivate an inner presence and a strong connection to the body. We will then slowly build heat through warm ups, eventually moving into a variety of yoga postures. Expect to work as hard as you like, and be given the opportunity to slowly build strength, mobility, and confidence. The entire class is taught through the lens of somatic yoga. Somatic yoga leans in to our sensations and sensory world, focusing on being present and building a strong connection to the body. Prioritizing individual autonomy and progress over achieving perfection. An extra 15 minutes allows time to slowly build heat (tapas, determination), and that little extra to really get into the somatic flow. Each class ends in savasana with a cool cloth. Variations offered throughout class, take what works, leave what doesn't. Start where you are. Your body deserves a moment to be in the flow.
Please bring a mat, water bottle, and arrive 5 minutes or more before class start time. If you do not have a mat, there are communal studio mats you may borrow. If you have reserved online and can not attend, please cancel at least 2 hours before. Failure to cancel in the 2 hour time frame will be considered a no show and will be subject to the loss of the drop in or one pass from your class pass, or have a drop in fee of $20 for unlimited passes.
